Who Can Benefit From CrossFit?

    Anyone can benefit from CrossFit, from the highest caliber athlete to the grandparent who has not exercised in years.  Just because we offer elite fitness does not mean we are elitist about who can benefit.  We stand by our motto, elite fitness for everyday people.

    At its very core CrossFit is designed for universal scalability, the principle that any person who truly desires can take part regardless of experience.  That means in any single class clients can range from the physically elite to the client who has not exercised in five years, and the best part is that they are working out together at the same time, putting in the same perceived effort, and finishing together with the same sense of accomplishment.
 
    The 8 am class is a perfect example of this.  One client is a Marine Corps. officer candidate trying to enhance his already great physical conditioning so that he might capture the title of honor graduate.  Beside him is an overweight man who wants to get back into the shape of his college basketball days.  On the next station is a young woman who works three jobs and has not exercised properly in some time.  The fourth station is an intramural wrestler who wants to keep his edge.  Their scaled levels run the full range, from the highest to beginner, but their efforts are equal and they usually finish within a minute of each other.  Because of universal scalability all four clients can train simultaneously and never feel as if they are not being challenged at the level needed to make gains.  This brings everyone to the same elite level of fitness.  No one left behind and no intimidation.

    I would like to share an email I recently received from one of my clients.  In his first month he lost 40lbs on our prescription of diet, exercise, and sleep.  He went from barely being able to finish a low level workout to consistently completely the most difficult workouts that we offer.  He has shown more heart and determination than anyone I have ever met and I am truly honored to train him.

I just wanted to say thanks, you brought something to our area that gives people like myself  hope. Not only is this the most motivating thing I have done in six years, but I feel better, am more energetic, and more determined to reach goals that a short month ago I thought were unrealistic. I now think I not only can I reach my goals but surpass them.
  
I was a bit weary when I first came to the gym, but I am now a part of a group that is going to change my life. At first I thought that I couldn't handle the WODs but I was wrong. Through pain, being tired, and burnt out I still manage to make it every morning. I push myself everyday to my limits and when I done all I can do is laugh, drink some water, and look toward tomorrows WOD. This has been an experience that I may have never had if it wasn't for CrossFit. 

At this point I love and live CrossFit.  The environment, the people I work out with,and the trainer are making this journey one of the great feats in my life. I now have a new family, that I see every morning at 8am, and I hope I see them for the rest of my life.
